What a great week!

Well, I guess it's time again for an update on what's been going on with Jay and I. Sorry this post is a long one, there was a lot of exciting things going on. We will start with last thursday the 20th of November. (That's when all the fun started.) Not a whole lot happened because I had to work at night, but I got to go to lunch with my best friend from college, Ashley! I hadn't seen her for a few months so it was so nice to just sit at Macaroni Grill and talk and talk. Man I miss her. I'm still trying to convince her and her husband (well, she and I are trying to convince her husband really) that they need to move to Morgan and live by us. Ashley and I have a lot of weird things in common and it would be nice to have some one to talk to about Chaco addictions and such. Anyway, it was so good to see her again. Friday morning started off ok but stunk after a while. I had to wait at our new house for the Dish guy to come and hook up everything. They gave us the whole "we will be there between 8 and 12" spill and when he finally showed up at 1:45! I was ready to scream. And to make matters even more fun, I had a doc. appt at 4:15 and when I was leaving at 4 he still wasn't done. What the crap? So my mom had to come and hang out with the guy. After that, the day got much better. I met up with a group of girl friends and went to see Twilight! I really liked it. Of course it wasn't as good as the book, but show me a movie that was. I heard they are starting the production of the second book and can not wait! Next was Sat. In the morning I got a pedicure, much needed and loved it so much. The girl doing my nails also gave me a hot stone massage, full leg scrub massage, and a very nice foot massage. Oh man was it nice. After that Jay and I went to a huge

BYU U of U football party. And I mean Huge! Everyone that went was in either a U or Y shirt to support their team. Jay wore the Y's shirt and I wore the U's. It just goes to show you that you can have peace between the two teams. So can't we all just get along? Although I don't follow Collage Football too much it was a really fun game to watch and man was there ever a lot of food. Sunday and Monday not a lot happened, just working on the house and getting things ready for final inspection. Tuesday, I got off work to start packing the Ogden house all up and Jay, Frank, Scottie, Scott L. and Cade moved everything out. My sister, Stacey came to help me pack everything up thankfully. I think I had a small nervous breakdown when I realized how much I really needed to pack. I couldn't have gotten it done without her. So Tues night was our first night in our new home. The boys were moving everything til about 10:30 that night. Man were they amazing! Thanks to all of you who helped, we truly could not have done it without you! There are still a lot of boxes to unload but I really and enjoying the house so far. Wed. I went to work and while I was there one of Jays co-workers gave us tickets to the Jazz game. So right after work we headed over and sat in the 26th row. I really like going to the Jazz games the fans are so fun and loud. It really makes me want to cheer again. Anyway, the Jazz won and the game was great. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I didn't have to work. That is one thing to be thankful for. In the morning was the annual turkey shoot, which Jay and I had to miss because we needed to unpack more things. I was kind of sad about that, I had practiced my shooting in September and was ready to go. Oh well, maybe next year. After my family and I headed to my sisters house for a great Thanksgiving dinner. Then we just hung out for the rest of the night. It was great. On Friday, mom and I decided to do the unthinkable and went shopping. I'm not sure what I was thinking. We headed to Joan's first, the fabric store. We walked in and turned around and walked right out. There was a line just to purchase that went to the back of the store, with only 4 registers! We were not about to go insane for some fabric. The other stores were not as bad. We hit Target, Mervyn's, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Michaels. They actually had short lines and we were in and out fast. I was so done by the end of the day my feet felt like I had been standing on rocks bear foot for many days. I guess that's what happens when your preggo. Sat, today my mom, the angel, she is came over and helped me unpack all our food and put it in the pantry. It was one thing I was completely dreading and really couldn't pull myself to do it. She was so nice and put it all away for me. I am so thankful for that I can't even describe in words. Now I am hanging out at work, which is where reality comes back in. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far. As for me, I am enjoying life!

Just a quickie...

I have to join in with many of the ladies here, if your not one of them then bare with me. I am so excited to see the Twilight movie! Some of the girls and I have pre-bought our tickets and we are good to go. I think Jay is getting a little annoyed with me though. First off when I was reading the books, which are amazing, I would tune him and everything else out. No joke! Jay would always laugh at me because sometimes we would be in a conversation and I would not even realize it. So, since the previews have been showing and I keep telling Jay how excited I am, I am banned from saying that phrase. Now I say "Go Utes, Go BYU!" because of the game on Sat. which I think he is excited to watch. Which means, "Oh man, am I ever excited to see the movie Twilight!"


Ok, now I have to vent. Why, why, why, do people play Christmas music so darn early!? Don't get me wrong, when Christmas comes around I turn into a Griswald to the max. But really, playing Christmas music already, before Thanksgiving? And what's with decorating for Christmas before Halloween is even over with? Last time I checked it went, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Will someone please tell me what the deal is, I can't figure it out.

Just another week...

Well, not a lot has been going on. Just work and working on the house. There have been some of you asking for photos of our house so this blog is dedicated to the house. I am so excited about our house. Today, Tues. 11, the carpet guy is at our house putting all the carpet in and at the end of the week the marble guy will have our counter tops in in the kitchen. Then the electrician, plumber, and A/C guy come and finish up and we move in!!!!  We figure we will be moving in next week (week before Thanksgiving). Here is a walk through of our house...

Behind our Kitchen is the Mud Room. I love the wall color, it's a very pale yellow.

Next to the Dining Area is the Office, I stained the walls to give it that "old world" feel.            

Here is our main bath, so when you come over this is where you will spend some of your time. The toilet will be there :)

Happy Halloween!

I can't believe it's November already. This year has gone by so fast to me. Well Halloween was fun Jay took me on a haunted tour of Ogden where we heard stories of all the ghosts and crazy things that went on way back when. They also told us of the murders and deaths that happened mostly in the early 1900's when S. Ogden was just getting started. It was pretty fun. I liked hearing about all the legends and not so talked about history of that area. The tour recommended taking photos of everything to see if you could capture "orbs" or anything else. So here are some of my photos. P.S. if your not a believer that's cool. It was Halloween and time to let your imagination run. So go along with it.

This picture has the reflection from the street sign at the cemetery... But that was the only thing out there that had a reflection (believe me I checked) so what is that bright glowing "orb"?

In this shot on 25 th street it looks like there is a smudge on my camera in the upper section. However, the rest of my pics don't have the "smudge" showing anywhere. (Ghost?)

For work LDS had a pumpkin carving contest for the different departments. So I got to carve a pumpkin for my job on Wed with one of my co-workers Cammy. (tough day!) We had a cool plan laid out for our pumpkin but then decided to go a different rout in the spirit of people being afraid of us (the "vampires") and of getting their blood drawn. I also got to decorate our lab with spiders, ghosts and I even made origami bats. If you can't tell what it is don't laugh it was done free hand with little tools. I'll explain it to you... First off you have an arm with a tourniquet on and a name band of "Death 13". Good name I know. Then you have a monster needle (since everyone thinks needles are huge) with blood all over and blood draining down the victims arm. Next in the corner (you cant see it too well) are vampire teeth with blood dripping off (in dedication to all those out there who call us vampires) and the origami bats flying overhead ready for their "drink".  Haa Haa Haaa!!! (Just go with it) It does look a bit better in real life and I never got to see it lit up because the contest was on Friday (my day off).

Now, who is the spoiled one?

Wed. night we are getting ready for bed and I swear I was washing my face and getting ready for no more than 5 min. and I come back in the room to find this... Jay is already asleep and Emma is cuddling with him in my spot! I mean really. (Isn't it so cute!)

Trying to catch up

Ok, this will be the last back-to-back post. I noticed I hadn't written in a while and was trying to catch up, and now I am (after this). First off I want to say "Yeah" to Jay. He received a new position in the America First Credit Union Company. He no longer is a manager for one of the branches, he works in the marketing department coming up with commercials, billboards, and promotions for America First (along with the other 5 on the team). He was selected out of 40 or so other people for this position. I am so proud of him for getting this position. One of the nice things about this new job is he no longer has to drive from Ogden to Heber everyday for work, he now drives around 5 min. to work. So much better and now I don't have to worry about the bad snow days or all the deer and moose on the roads. Anyway, two weekends ago (October 4th) Jay and I were invited by his work to attend an Operation Kids gala in honor of John Walsh. He was receiving the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award for all his 25 years of fighting crime against children. It was a very exciting night. The gala was a black tie event so everyone there was dressed to the max, tuxes and fancy dresses. Before the event even started there was a VIP room where we got to meet and get our pictures taken with;

Jim Brickman, an amazing pianist, he also performed. Let me tell you he is even better looking in real life.

Dennis Haysbert, 24's (the TV show) president of the US, if you don't know him from there you might know him as the All State Insurance commercial guy. He was hosting for the night.

Also, Colin Raye, country singer, who was the main performer at the end of the gala. We had an amazing 3 course meal and a gift bag full of goodies for everyone who attended. It was really a fun night. I never get to dress up so every once and a while it's fun to do.

Anniversary Week

September 25th was Jay's and my wedding anniversary. It has been 4 years since we were married. I can't believe how fast time goes by. I have been enjoying every minuet of it though. Jay is such a great man. He is so supportive of all my crazy ideas, spoils me, and lets me just be myself. I could go on and on but I might get carpel tunnel in my hands. I just want to say that I am so thankful to have Jay in my life and am blessed that we get to be together forever. I couldn't ask for a better husband. I love you Jay!

Ok enough mushy, mushy. For our anniversary we actually got to celebrate it for most of that week... On the 24th (which is actually our Temple anniversary) we got an ultrasound of our baby and found out that we are having a baby girl! We are so excited!! A lot of people thought we were having a boy and so did I. I'm not disappointed though, I want both a girl and boy and I really didn't care which one came first. On thursday we got to go to the Zermott Resort in Midway for the rest of the weekend. It is such a beautiful hotel and the leaves on the trees were changing and amazing. We went there actually for a management seminar for Jays work. This, I thought, was perfect. Free hotel room for the weekend, free food, and activities to entertain us, well mostly me, Jay had meetings a lot of the days. The spouses of the managers get to come to the seminar and while they were at learning meetings we got to, shoot rifles, take golf lessons, make a cute craft, and have really great speakers. One of the speakers I really enjoyed, everyone got to listen to him, was a captain of the Blue Angels, John Foley. If you don't know who the Blue Angels are they are an amazing group of pilots that fly stunts for groups. They fly 18" from each other going 400 knots upside down. We got to see video from his perspective and all there amazing skills. If it couldn't have gotten any better we found out that John was one of the main pilots for the movie Top Gun! He was such a great speaker and my heart was racing every time I saw the footage of the flights. Man I would love to try that.

Also, while we were gone the builders were still working on our house. This picture below was taken during that time. Now we have garage doors, soffit and facia, painted inside, tile all laid, cabinets in the process, marble done, lighting almost done, and wood floor in the process. We were told that we will be able to move in around the first of Nov. now! YES!!!

All in all it was a great Anniversary!

Birthday Presant

For my birthday (a while back in September) I was on my family river trip (see pics below). I figured that was a great present but apparently Jay didn't think it was good enough. The night we got home from out trip Jay gave me another present. A way nice digital camera, I mean way nice. It is a Nikon D60 with two zoom lenses, a bag for all the different attachments, two dvds on how to work the camera, and classes to better my skills. (man does he spoil me.) I absolutely love the camera but I am still trying to figure all the buttons out. I thought for this blog I would show off my very amateurish pictures from the camera. Most of my pics are of Emma because she is such a good model and the funny thing is she really likes getting her picture taken. Plus she is way cute!  Here they are...
