Christmas Recap

Well, this Christmas week was great! I love Christmas time, like I had said before, hanging out with family, seeing friends and all the snow we got! On Monday night Jay and I went to my friend Marie's house for a get together with her, her husband some other friends of ours. We had a soup party. I really had a great time. It was so good to see her the others and meet their spouses and kids. Christmas Eve I had to work so not a whole lot happened that day. However, my way cool team lead let me have Christmas Day off (I was supposed to work that day as well). So I was able to sleep in with the hubby, go see the family and just relax the whole day. It was so nice. When we wake up we usually take Emma out to the restroom first thing, however this morning she found her stocking (yes, my dog has a stocking) with her new stuffed frog hanging out. She sniffed it for a second then pulled it out and just went crazy. She had then decided that the restroom could wait till the afternoon because the frog was much more important. We also got her a nice backpack so when we go hiking she can now carry her own 1st aid and water. She seems to like that too.

Jay got a kayak helmet and drytop, so now on our family trips or any other rafting trips he wont have to borrow someone else's gear that doesn't fit quite right. He also got a pair of UGG boots, a dvd some tools and lots of cookies. From his work Jay received a nice video recorder. I think it's called a flip, anyway its very small and you can download straight to the computer without cords. I'm excited to use it :) Jay got me a nice triathlon watch some cool sweats and a hoodie some perfume which I just smelt for the first time on Sat. (I had a stuffy nose Christmas morning) and an hour massage gift card. Oh I am so excited to use that! Jay almost made me tear up too, he bought Ava a present and when I opened it there was a small bracelet in there for when she is born. It is so cute! Later that day we went to my sisters house for a family party and to open our gifts from each other. Laura drew my name and she got me this beautiful bracelet with Ava's name on it. (Thank you again Laura!) We then watched all the kids open their gifts. It is such a funny thing to watch. Open a gift... get really excited, toss it aside and ask for another. Repeat. We finished off the night with some food and some Wii time. We played the Olympic and outdoor game. They were both fun. Not to brag but I won the Olympic game, preggo and all (I was playing against Tyce, Cade and Scott) Oh such a fun thing to brag about!

Well, I hope you all had a great Christmas time and have a Happy New Year!

Christmas Time!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and New Years time.
I have been trying to live it up for the most part. For the Holidays my family and I get together for a tradition of making gingerbread houses. This year Jay and I made a rainbow looking gingerbread house and Jay made Emma a dog house on the side. I love having this tradition. It's so fun to watch all the neices and nephews build their houses and decorate with as much candy as they can possibly put on without colapsing the houses. My brother-in-law, as usual, complained how boring this tradition is and, as usual, was into it as much as all the kids. This year he made a gingerbread monster truck.
Last week mom came over and we spent 5 hours making chocolate covered pretzels. We made over 4 lbs of pretzels. Man, it was a long time but very fun hanging out with mom for the day.

I have finished (for the most part) unpacking my house and put up some Christmas decorations. I decided this year to not put up all decorations because after the unpack I really didn't want to do a whole lot more. Jay and I did get a fresh cut tree (which is always a must) and I decorated it that day. Jay took a nap :)
It has been snowing in Morgan the last few days and I am so excited! I love when it snows. So does Emma. She is so funny in the snow. I have realized that she can find more things barried in the snow then just sitting on the grass. It's amazing. She had lost a stick during the non-snow days and the other day she was running around and stopped mid run, dug, and found her stick. She then pranced around for about 10 min with the stick in her mouth and ripped it to peices. She also plows her face in the snow and just sits there. Anyway, I love this time of year, the white shinning snow, christmas lights, (i'm not sure if it's me but) people seem happier. I love being with the family my friends, cozing up with hot choco and my husband and having Emma there to pet.
Everyone have a Very Merry Christmas!
